Something I read the other day suggested that as we age our strength/physical capability decreases while our wisdom goes up.
I, like probably all of us, can attest to the former even if my mind keeps on insisting I’m 25. As for the latter how true is the growth in our wisdom? Yes, we acquire more knowledge and experience as the years tick by.
And maybe wisdom too, sharpened by the missteps, bumps and bruises of life. Though I might suggest these are also closer to knowledge and experience.
Isn’t there a higher level to keep reaching for? That of a more intuitive knowing…a connection to a higher wisdom that comes when we nurture inner calm, quiet, serenity and connect with our inner Self.
When we refuse to be drawn into the day-to-day drama of a seemingly chaotic and incomprehensible world and escape not only the ‘noise’ of the times we live in but also our own conditioning and filters.
Instead, bringing a deep reflective practice to access a bigger picture, seeking a different perspective (to the one that got us here), and higher meaning in unfolding events.
And drawing on the impressions, signals and intuitions that come through to guide our contribution to creating a better world.
Opening ourselves to become a channel for something more…more meaningful and more game changing, less coloured by our experience and more connected with a deeper truth. That is what it means to act with wisdom surely?
