Finding and trusting our inner truth isn’t as easy as it may seem – at least in my experience that can be the case. There are undoubtedly those moments when a big aha moment arrives and we just know. It becomes deeply true for us – it becomes a truth – integrated within our cells. We know that something we’ve heard, studied, felt or connected with goes beyond rational thinking or adding up the parts – it just arrives like it’s always been there. Sort of out of the blue but not really, because we have been doing the work at some level.
We may sense that ‘the knowing’ is surprised at our surprise – almost like an old friend who has arrived somewhere before us and then casually says – well what took you so long?!
In my experience the harder part is when the pieces just won’t quite fall into place, we’re just not quite ready or we’re denying, testing, still wondering whether we are going to accept something as true, as our truth. The blockers aren’t so obvious, or we’ve been successfully keeping the blinkers on – perhaps protecting ourselves or maybe just because, unconsciously, we have known that other parts need to fall into place first.
When deep knowing or truth lands it is so liberating. It brings new freedoms and space that almost feel like a big hug. We feel held by that truth because it has an eternal quality to it, a timelessness. Not arrogant, smug or fixed but nevertheless timeless.
It isn’t operating on the level of the concrete, rational mind, it is a sense and an expression of consciousness – we might say it’s our soul revealing the next step in our plan.
Staying centred, patient and in contact with our soul is the only way these truths can emerge. The more we succeed at that the more revelations and deeper knowing will arrive – more effortlessly. And this helps us build a foundation of wisdom from which to lead.
