We humans are generally brimful of intentions. Whether more personally focused or embracing a bigger, world-changing vista, we have an abundance. Yet my personal experience suggests they’re too often stored up for tomorrow.
Tomorrow never really comes though. We move through our lives moment to moment. While we’re dreaming of that brighter future, of that fabled tomorrow, we’re missing being right here, right now, attending to the choices and actions that will create the future.
And, in that inaction, we are falling behind when we need to be getting ahead, together.
Our desire for a better world for all is surely shared so what are we waiting for – a more propitious time, more resources, more space?
Instead, we can decide that we have all the resources we need and in doing so now becomes the time. Now…for us to set a conscious intention around our thoughts, words and actions serving a greater good, contributing to a renewed and better, kinder, more peaceful, and prosperous world.
Perhaps the only intention we need, and need to follow through on, is to act now.
And if we need any more encouragement, we can draw on the words of climber, filmmaker, and author Jimmy Chin…
‘I truly believe the intention of creating positive change is so important to the collective consciousness. When you have a group of people that have the intention and the capacity, talent, and intelligence to actualise those intentions, then you have something really powerful.’
I think he’s talking to, and about, every one of us.
